POSITION OVERVIEW

Unity Managing Underwriters Limited is hiring for a Sales Associate – Commercial Underwriting and Claims and will provide support to the VP of Sales in the maintenance of existing accounts. The Sales Associate will also assist in developing profitable, long-term accounts using a combination of leads and prospecting for the National Specialty Risk Insurance program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide product and Admin support as part of a sales team for the existing client base.
  • Working as part of a sales team to develop existing opportunities and create new relationships that fit into the current objectives of the company as a whole
  • Provide ongoing support to the Sales manager as part of the role.
  • While working in a team environment, provide exceptional service to clients and support for other team members as required
  • Apply for licensing, training and continuing education where needed as part of progressive career development
  • Communicate results, outstanding issues, national industry trends and business opportunities to the Management team
  • Build strong relationships with accounts in an assigned territory to support existing business and generate new business opportunities where appropriate
  • Provide support for special projects and any other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluency (verbal and written) in the following languages: French, Punjabi, Hindi is needed
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated sales experience preferred
  • LLQP and or RIBO licensing are an asset
  • Must have reliable car and driver’s license as some travel will be involved in this role
  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience working in group creditor life, disability and related property/casualty lines of business
  • Knowledge of Commercial underwriting principles, concepts and methodologies
  • Knowledge of both the automobile and commercial finance and leasing industries
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Superior customer service skills and business acumen
