Our clients include some of the largest utilities, telecom, construction, forestry, oil, and rail companies in Canada and the USA.Monday - Friday, 7:00 – 4:00pm, overtime as neededPast warehouse experience, ability to operate a forklift.Knowledge of commercial trucks or related equipment.Summary:The Parts Associate will efficiently manage the procurement and distribution of heavy-duty equipment, diesel engine, and hydraulic component parts for outside sales and internal repairs. Receive place and fill orders in a timely fashion for outside parts sales. Ensure heavy duty equipment, diesel engine and hydraulic component parts are available for mechanics as needed.Essential Functions:Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, with flexibility to assist other departments as needed. Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM), creating parts lists using Excel, experience with warehousing software preferred.Order and track parts/inventory to minimize delay time in completing repairs on vehicles.Provide written documentation of parts ordered/received as required by the company.Assess requests for parts for a variety of components related to heavy duty diesel, utility equipment and hydraulic systems to ensure correct items and quantity are ordered. Timely process orders and contact vendors as needed to order parts for service or inventory by ensuring that the proper parts are ordered.Work closely with managers and team members to make decisions on large purchases to prevent unnecessary expenses.Work closely with managers and team leaders on parts requests to ensure all necessary parts are ordered and eliminate costly parts returns per company procedures. Track all incoming and outgoing inventory in accordance with the company's procedures.Accurately distribute parts to mechanics and assign equipment to appropriate vehicle within the company's inventory system. Ensure that computer-based parts and inventory systems are up-to-date and accurate by inputting all necessary data in a timely, accurate manner.Assist in conducting inventory counts and keep inventory records to ensure company standards are met.Assist in ensuring that proper inventory levels are maintained to prevent delays in production.Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.Education & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Parts and service or related experience required.Proficiency in common computer software (MS Office Suite) and inventory software.Key Traits:Extremely detail oriented and accurate. Mechanical aptitude. Adapting to changing work priorities. Meeting deadlines and schedules. Setting priorities.Mental/Physical Requirements:Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.Punctual attendance and willingness to work additional hours as needed.Physical capability for lifting, carrying, and other tasks.Proficiency in communication and problem-solving.Benefits:Extended Health Care DentalVirtual HealthEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) Travel AssistanceRRSP - Registered Retirement Savings PlanPaid Time Off Vacation, Sick, Holiday’sLife InsuranceAccidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Dependent Life InsuranceShort Term Disability (STD)Long Term Disability Insurance (LTD)
