Senior Estimator

Our client is in the commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing industry. They are looking for a full-time Senior Estimator to join their team based in Brampton, Ontario.In this role, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for monitoring bidding opportunities, assessing technical aspects of projects, creating, and submitting bid proposals, coordinating project changes and disputes, and attending site meetings as required in a fast-paced environment within the roofing and/or construction industry.Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include: Monitoring bidding opportunities and identifying potential projects of interest.Assessing the technical aspects of potential projects and preparing initial cost estimates.Working with limited supervision.Creating and submitting bid proposals after review.Preparing costing for ongoing project changes.Following up with on-site issues with operations team.Attending site meetings as required.Coordinating the investigation and resolution of disputes.Analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing projects.Collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.Researching and recommending cost-effective materials, methods, and techniques for roofing projects.Evaluating subcontractor bids and negotiating pricing and terms as needed.Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and regulations related to roofing materials and construction.Assisting in developing project schedules and budgets based on estimated costs.Providing ongoing support and guidance to project teams during the estimation and bidding process.Reviewing and analyzing project proposals, contracts, and change orders to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and estimating or comparable level in the commercial/institutional construction industry.Thorough knowledge of Commercial Roofing is considered an asset.Knowledge of standard construction practices (i.e. CCDC) and building codes.Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant discipline.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Bilingualism is considered an asset.
