Maintenance Worker

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing periodic/scheduled and emergency mechanical, and facility maintenance to ensure everything is safe and in trouble free working order. In addition, the incumbent will provide support to other maintenance team members and third-party contractors as required. A competent Maintenance Technician can complete the following activities and responsibilities with mínimal supervision.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Helps service, trouble shoot and repair production equipment and/or building systems as required ensuring it is in safe and trouble-free working order. Advises Team Leader and/or Facilities Supervisor of any unresolved concerns.
  • Helps perform preventative maintenance and uses technical knowledge and experience to modify preventative maintenance requirements to minimize potential failures.
  • Requires knowledge of equipment manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Assists skilled trade workers in the installation, maintenance and/or repair of any production related equipment or Facilities systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Utilization of computer tracking system for all machine maintenance activities.
  • Able to react to change productively and participate in other projects or essential tasks in full as required or assigned.
  • Discusses with Maintenance Team Leader and/or Facilities Supervisor any problems relating to maintenance or operation of production machinery and equipment or facilities systems.
  • Supports the completion of appropriate maintenance and cleaning activities to minimize production downtime.
  • Completes logbooks and other surveys in an accurate and timely manner to assist in creating and maintaining a database to enhance the company’s decision making.
  • Displays co-operation, flexibility, and adaptability in a changing environment.
