Purpose: The People Services Employee Relations Consultant will serve as a trusted partner to their assigned regionalized business group, leaders and Business Partners for all employee relations matters. They will be responsible for providing consistent and fair direction and support for sensitive matters regarding policy interpretation, disciplinary matters, terminations, investigations and other sensitive employee issues.Primary ResponsibilitiesAct as an escalation point for issues that cannot be solved within the business unitHandle sensitive employee concerns and investigations, including interpersonal conflict in the workplace, terminations, employee complaints, ethics reports, and allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliationSupport ethics hotline investigations involving claims of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, as well as complex allegations related to violations of company policies and proceduresProvide counsel and assistance to team members and all levels of management on employee relations issuesAbility to maintain positive relationships to support employees & managers both in person and remotelyHigh level of integrity; ability to handle confidential information ethically, professionally and appropriatelyPartner with People Services Business Partners and leaders to address and develop strategic plans for employee relations issuesProvide professional and confidential HR advice to Business Partners on potentially sensitive matters and serve as central point of contact for policy interpretation, disciplinary actions and terminationsMaintain accurate, timely, and required documentation of activities to ensure quality employee relations records and metricsCollaborates with other centers of excellence within the People Services functionActively engaged in performance management and supporting team member growthProvides feedback, advice and recommendations to help ensure fair and consistent administration of compensation practices throughout organization, including, but not limited to: merit increases, promotions, market adjustmentsExercise sound judgment and expertise within defined policies and practicesMaintain ability to work in a fast paced environment and effective manage competing prioritiesConsult and build relationships with all levels of team membersCreate guidelines, best practice research, and trainings to educate employees, managers, and other members of People Services in how to mitigate and properly address behavioral issues in the workplaceConduct exit interviews to gather insight into turnover trendsConducts People Services related trainingActive member of a larger People Services team to support overall department initiativesMaintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws and regulationsRequirementsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business or related fieldMinimum of 5 years in HR Generalist or equivalent roleExperience consulting on Canadian employment lawsExperience consulting on multiple employee relations issues that vary in scope and complexityAbility to manage high volume of employee relations casesStrong conflict resolution skillsDemonstrate strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to work independentlyBi-lingual requirement (English + French).Company: Behr Paint CompanyFull timeHiring Range: $72, - $113,Actual compensation may vary based on various factors including experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills.Our Ongoing Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion We believe a workplace that encourages and values different voices, perspectives, and backgrounds builds better teams, better solutions, and more innovation.
