In this role, you'll design structures crucial for mining operations, collaborate on project planning and execution, supervise construction, ensure quality control and safety, manage maintenance, and conduct site investigations to inform design decisions, contributing to the success and sustainability of mining projects. Free training programs New and quicker onboarding process Duties and Responsibilities: Designing Structures : Structural Design : You'll be responsible for designing various structures related to mining operations. This includes Plant Assets, conveyor systems, storage facilities, and other infrastructure. Project Planning & Management : Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to plan and execute mineral processing facility and mine operations projects efficiently. Develop project schedules, allocate resources, and monitor progress. Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards. Supervising Construction Projects : Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications. Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, and other professionals during construction. Address any design modifications or unforeseen challenges during construction. Quality Control & Safety Assurance : Implement quality control measures to ensure the durability and safety of structures. Conduct inspections, tests, and evaluations to verify compliance with engineering standards. Prioritize safety protocols to protect workers and prevent accidents. Maintenance and Rehabilitation : Assess existing structures and equipment for maintenance needs. Plan and execute maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to extend the lifespan of assets. Address wear and tear due to harsh mining conditions. Project Reports and Site Investigation : Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates. Conduct site investigations to assess soil conditions, stability, and geological factors. Use geotechnical data to inform design decisions. Qualifications & Skills: Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada Must be P.Eng.-certified Experience in structural design for mining operations, including Plant Assets, conveyor systems, and storage facilities. Proficiency in project planning and management, including developing schedules, resource allocation, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards. Ability to supervise construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and addressing any modifications or challenges during construction. Strong background in quality control and safety assurance, including conducting inspections, tests, and evaluations to verify compliance with engineering standards and prioritize safety protocols. Experience in maintenance and rehabilitation of structures and equipment, including assessing maintenance needs, planning repairs and upgrades, and addressing wear and tear from harsh mining conditions.
