Reporting to the Manager, the Supportive Living Worker provides assistance to the Home Care Nurse (RN/RPN) in the provision of nursing services in a Continuing Care environment. The Supportive Living Worker is accountable for the activities and tasks assigned to them, providing care within the boundaries of their knowledge and competency. The Supportive Living Worker is responsible for knowing and declining when care that needs to be provided exceeds their level of competence.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Health Care Aide Certification from a recognized educational institution- Graduates from an Accredited Health Care Aide educational program with provincially approved competencies
  • Graduates of an Alberta or Canadian Nursing Program having completed a minimum of 100 hours of clinical
  • practicum- Graduate from an International Registered Nursing Program
  • LPN Students who have completed their first year of studies in Alberta or Canadian Nursing Program and are
  • returning to their program of study within 4 months- Registration in the HCA Directory
  • Provincial MAP training

  • manner that maximizes the client’s independence and well being- Ensures client’s personal care requirements are met
  • Assists with medication delivery in compliance with Bethany’s policies and procedures, as assigned.
