Position :Food and Beverage - Cashier/ Line Cook

Department :Operations

Reports to :FB Supervisor, Operations Manager, Guest Experience Manager

Rate :Minimum Wage

Position Requirements : The Food and Beverage Cashier / Line Cook is responsible for day-to-day orders using a POS system, preparation and cooking all menu items in the Oasis Kitchen and the Campfire Cabin to the highest quality of standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Operate the grill, deep fryer, and pizza oven and all other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Cook all menu items using the appropriate equipment and recipe, and to the highest quality standards and plate according to portion sizes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitization guidelines.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining excellent service standards.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Serves food and drinks to guest in an enthusiastic manner.
  • Manages transactions with guests using a POS system (point of sales terminal) by processing cash and credit card transactions.
  1. Ability to maintain a positive attendance record and work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

  2. Must be able to work in a professional manner with zoo visitors, vendors, volunteers and staff.

  3. Complete light physical work as needed.

  4. Understands, accepts and follows Greater Vancouver Zoo Policies and Procedures, including Emergency Procedures.

  5. Other duties as directed.

Knowledge and Experience : Experience working in a kitchen environment.

Knowledge of food handling and food service techniques.

Education Required : Highschool diploma or equivalent.

Other Information : Must possess a valid British Columbia Driver’s License.

Must possess Food Safe Certificate

Complete Criminal Record Check

Possess Serving it Right Certificate is an asset

Full-time and Part-time positions. Seasonal Contract.

Pay: From $16.75 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
