Position Summary

The Clinical Educator is responsible for the design and delivery of training programs, resources and learning experiences to support the learning and professional development needs of the employees and providers supporting Teladoc Health Canada’s clinical programs. Working closely with the Manager, Learning & Development, organizational stakeholders, and subject matter experts, the Clinical Educator will ensure evidence-based clinical standards and best practices are reflected in training and development activities across the organization.

Role and Responsibilities

Develop materials used to facilitate learning for a clinical audience, including (but not limited to): e-learning assets; course outlines, objectives, and descriptions; instructional videos; workbooks; user guides; job aids; FAQs; learning activities; and PowerPoint presentations.
Deliver synchronous and asynchronous training to new and existing clinical staff and providers using a variety of mediums, including (but not limited to): lectures, workshops, videos, e-learning, demonstrations, and simulations; in both in-person and virtual environments.
Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization to proactively assess and identify individual, departmental and organization clinical education needs.
Support the successful launch of new products, policies, partnerships, and pilot projects through the development of high-quality training assets for a clinical audience, in accordance with project deadlines.
Assist with the development and delivery of foundational on-boarding and role-specific training curriculums for clinical staff and providers, with an emphasis on patient safety, clinical quality, and applicable policies and practice guidelines.
In collaboration with medical leaders, participate in the creation of learning experiences and professional development opportunities to support the career growth and skill development of Teladoc’s clinical staff and providers.
Cultivate a smooth and positive on-boarding and training experience for new and returning clinical staff and providers that promotes Teladoc’s goals, vision, and cultural value, including a commitment to clinical excellence and the highest standards in patient care.
Review and modify training content as needed to maintain an up-to-date training library that accurately reflects current operational processes, product/program enhancements, technological updates, and clinical best practices.
Seek to continuously improve and enhance training content and delivery methods based on learner and stakeholder feedback and evaluative data.
Provide clinical support and consultation as needed to the Learning & Development team.

Skill Requirements/Preferences

Direct patient experience; strong clinical assessment skills
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records
Clinical training, quality, and documentation experience
Telephonic clinical experience is a plus
Love of learning and ability to teach others
Effective communication skills (verbal and written), documentation skills, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in using technology including software programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Articulate 360, Storyline and Learning Management Systems
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment in a growing company with expanding service lines and client base
Demonstrates organizational and assertiveness skills, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively in teams
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree preferred and current R. N. licensure required
Minimum of 5-8 years of professional acute care nursing experience
Prior experience in designing and delivering training using various delivery methods
