Payroll Specialist

Precision Well Servicing is currently seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team!

This position will be based out of our Red Deer facility. Our teams have returned to our office facilities, and remote work is not available for this role.

Duties & Responsibilities : The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will be responsible for assisting with full cycle payroll services and managing all aspects of employee benefits.

  • Prepare and process full cycle hourly and salary bi-weekly payrolls, including off-cycle bonus runs, payroll advances, and terminations
  • Administer all company Benefits Programs and Retirement Savings Plans, including employee changes, billings, reconciliations and reporting
  • Assist with year-end processing including adjustments and T4 preparation
  • Gatherand provide required documentation for payroll audits
  • Assist with answering the Payroll Help Line and providing excellent customer service and guidance to employees on payroll and benefit related issues
  • Maintain HRIS and payroll systems, personnel files and filing systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all employee, HR and payroll data
  • Assist with reviewing, updating, and developing new processes for the payroll group
  • Prepare various summary reports in Excel for other departments in the company
  • Various other duties as required

Requirements :

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certificate with NPI preferred
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience processing payroll and managing group benefits
  • Experience with large volume payroll processing in a multi-province environment
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and provincial tax and labour regulations
  • Experience processing US payrolls an asset
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting

Precision Well Servicing is responsible for well completions, workovers, and abandonments. We use a variety of service rigs that are suited to each scope of work. The wells are located in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin which includes Northern BC, Northwest Territories, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
