Playtime Bowl & Entertainment is Toronto’s epic party place and premier entertainment centre. Playtime spans over 30,000 square feet and currently features upscale bowling, over 50 arcade games with a redemption prize store, high intensity laser tag and a restaurant with chef inspired food/catering & craft made cocktails. Playtime specializes in hosting group events including adult/corporate functions, social gatherings, live music concerts & kids birthday parties. Playtime is looking for an Assistant Manager to help with the management and future growth of the business. The Assistant Manager will provide support to the management team and provide general overall leadership, supervision and direction on strategic initiatives and operating standards to positively impact business results.

Guest and Team Member Responsibilities Include :

  • Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of games, food and drinks in an ideal environment for celebrating fun
  • Responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the venue and the direct supervision of all hourly employees - including activities, food & beverage and events
  • Demonstrate proactive leadership by ensuring positive Team Member and guest experiences through personal interactions
  • Ensure all Playtime Bowl work culture, standards, policies and procedures are adhered to among Team Members leading to the highest level of guest satisfaction
  • Assist with the development of the venue’s hourly team members while adhering to training procedures and standards
  • Ensure that special events and parties are executed to Playtime’s standards in regards to setup presentation, staffing levels, service expectations and food quality

Sales and Marketing Responsibilities Include :

  • Be an onsite Brand Ambassador for Playtime, including being knowledgeable of all of Playtime’s product offerings including activities, food menus, and special promotions
  • Assist with the development of store marketing including the development of promotional programs and campaigns geared towards general walk in guests, corporate & adult groups and kids events

Financial Management Responsibilities Include :

  • Ensures systems are in place and adhered to for all cost controls and inventories including Food and Beverage and Redemption Arcade Supplies
  • Monitors labor cost and venue scheduling process to ensure budgetary goals are met while maintaining appropriate staffing levels to ensure quality guest experience
  • Will have input in the venue development of short and long term plans for revenue growth and cost control reductions

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 2 years’ management experience in high volume retail, high traffic bar, restaurant, entertainment center/venue
  • Base knowledge of HR issues with regards to the hospitality industry. Including provincial laws regarding liquor, labour and health codes
  • Ability to lead, develop and train a staff of 30+ hourly associates to exceed guest expectations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer the appropriate options, solutions and resolutions required
  • Proficient with technology including Microsoft Office & point of sale systems
  • Required to work hospitality hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays

Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 44 per week
