We are currently seeking a Procurement / Supply Chain Representative to work out of our office in Guelph, Ontario . The chosen candidate will possess strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Our fluid conveyance offering ranges from end user hose replacements right through to full hydraulic conveyance kitting for some of North America’s largest OEMs. We also offer full hydraulic system servicing, both on site and in our shop. Our engineering department can help with the smallest of requests right up to designing and building large power units. Our drive to sell and service the best brands in the world has established our relationship with Hetronic Radio Remotes, by being Hetronic Canada, our clients can now lean on the UMI Group for support in radio remotes and electrical controls.

 

The Procurement / Supply Chain Representative will be responsible for supporting sales growth, accurately predicting demand forecasts, proactively planning inventory, and collaborating to identify supply chain efficiencies with our vendors.

 

Shift: Monday to Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop close working relationships with key vendors, that allow us to integrate supply chain processes, related to both physical movement of goods and digital strategies.
  • Design collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment (CPFR) processes and implement them within a select number of vendors.
  • Lead and develop procurement and inventory management procedures for the company.
  • Evaluate risk, assess, prepare forecasts, scenarios and other factors concerning the supply market, and write reports and recommendations.
  • Provides research and input into the financial sourcing aspects of contracts and calls for tender when information is not readily available.
  • Identify high impact cost reduction opportunities.
  • Leverage the organization’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply.
  • Communicate with internal stake holders and hiring managers to get information about potential and new vendors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential buyers and suppliers to the organization.
  • Respond to customer/vendor inquiries and clarify requirements and provide information as needed.
  • Understand vendor performance metrics regarding forecasting, inventory, and order management.
  • Will problem solve vendor supply chain issues and drive for resolution and service improvement between the UMI Group, the vendor, and logistic partners when applicable.
  • Extensive on time in full (OTIF) analysis to identify biggest service level opportunities, and vendor expectations.
  • Identify supply chain efficiency opportunities that facilitate better vendor KPI performance.
  • Work with the Sales, Engineering and IT teams to ensure that vendor needs are being met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • A focused degree in Supply Chain, Business or another related field is preferred.
  • Two (2) years work experience in supply chain management, procurement or data analytics would be considered an asset.
  • Great time management and follow-up skills, including, the ability to effectively balance quality and quantity of output.
  • Previous industry work experience would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with SQL databases.
  • SAP Business One experience would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft excel advanced analytics, and visualization tools like Power BI would be considered an asset.
