Production Scheduler

General Accountability : The Production Scheduler is responsible for providing the plant with daily and weekly production schedules consistent with the sales requirements, plant capacity, inventory levels, and raw material availability.

The Production Scheduler determines the desired inventory levels for finished goods including safety stock levels. The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans. Strong collaboration with the Director of Operations, the Plant Manager, Supply Chain and the Sales Team is required.

Responsibilities :

  • Creates, maintains, and communicates daily and weekly production schedules including up to date adjustments
  • Provides quick responses to production issues, sales inquiries, and customer concerns
  • Uses MRP and other software to generate reports and schedules
  • Resolves material shortage problems in a timely manner
  • Develops weekly production status reports
  • Monitors workflow and schedules to ensure on-time delivery
  • Collaborates with Production team to develop potential solutions to improve production performance
  • Develops effective scheduling processes to achieve production objectives
  • Coordinates with production, purchasing, shipping and finance teams to develop and maintain scheduling parameters
  • Ensures that company deadlines are met
  • Keeps up to date files and maintains data organization
  • Follows all health and safety protocols, with the ability to anticipate risk and ensure safety is a priority
  • Assists the Supply Chain Manager with other duties as required

Qualifications :

  • Diploma or degree in business, supply chain, logistics or related field of study
  • At least 3 years’ experience in production scheduling preferably in a dynamic consumer goods manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with ERP software and MS Excel
  • Ability to create and understand reports in order to make production decisions
  • Occasional weekend availability is required

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
