Project Leader (PMO)

The Project Leader is a high-energy organized individual demonstrating ability to negotiate and has an awareness of company priorities. The individual should have strong technical and interpersonal skills that will be showcased through their leadership via example. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing of Prototype Mature Product(s) and Coordinate stack builds for new products for Ballard’s internal and external customers so that they are delivered on budget and on time.

Success requires the ability to provide:

Plans and track against baseline schedules, budgets, and resources

Timely communication of scope changes and impacts

Risk analysis and mitigation strategies 

Project summaries and high-level status reports

Guidance to help the team prioritize activities and deliver on time

Flat BOM creation for non-standard builds, released parts procurement and forecast

Specific responsibilities include:

Create a work breakdown structure with clear deliverables for each task 

Collaborate with the core team to define schedules, budgets and resources that then become baselines

Track the baselines to identify variances on a weekly basis

Identify mitigation strategies to get back on track

Submit change requests if the project is unable to resolve variances 

Communicate issues using the consolidated department issues list

Organize work on as needed basis and provide guidance to the team

Requirements:

•Ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background, practical application of project management

•Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in product development on projects requiring custom design and build of fuel cell stack

•Flat BOM creation for non-standard builds, released parts procurement and forecast

•Ability to interface and work cooperatively across the organization 

•Very strong verbal and written communication skills 

•Strong organizational and interpersonal skills 

•Ability to shift priorities as needed

The typical hiring range for this position is CAD$75,000 - CAD$93,000 per annum. In determining total compensation, Ballard considers many factors, including the successful Candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, position location, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual short-term and long-term bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
