Project Cost Controller

A new and exciting opportunity in a global PE backed manufacturing business based in Halifax NS on a hybrid working pattern.I am searching for those with project cost management experience ideally from a Defense or similar sector business. This role will accelerate your career, offering opportunity to challenge and progress. A position with a salary range of $140,000 - $160,000 PA depending on experience plus bonus and excellent benefits.The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing clear communication to the senior program leadership team on financial performance against operational plans and budgets. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills to best support the program and enjoys the pace and challenge of a growing changing business.The Main Responsibilities are:Partners with various functional organizations including Contracts, Estimating, Supply Chain and Program Management teams in ensuring daily operations and strategies align with corporate policies and achieve the financial business goals.Prepare and provide status of program’s financial performance to senior program and functional leadership.Assist in the development of various cost proposals and negotiations.Define financial reporting structures for both earned value management and revenue reporting in a manner that allows for effective cost controlProvide financial leadership to various program reviews including monthly Program Performance Reviews, Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs), and Estimate at Complete (EAC) updatesManagement of a small team of analysisResponsible for ensuring program execution on cost and schedule, and together the team will partner with the Project Teams to ensure the accuracy reporting for the programEvaluation of risks and opportunities, performing rate impact analysis, understanding impacts of changes on program baselines and EACs, and reporting financial performance through quarterly Contract Status Reviews (CSR)QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent5 + years' experience in Project Cost ManagementA high proficiency in Microsoft Excel to complex formulas, macros etcSystems – ideally Cobra, Oracle and other cost management toolsEarned Value Management (EVM)High analytical abilities
