The Purchasing Specialist performs purchasing function to secure supply of raw materials, components, other materials and services from vendors ensuring price, delivery and quality targets are achieved. The position will be creative in problem solving!

Note: In office presence is required Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities :

  • Work closely with senior management to evaluate existing vendors based on price, quality, and other factors and provide recommendations regarding relationships.
  • Responsible for approving vendors according to ISO/TS requirements.
  • Analyzes production and inventory data to determine raw material requirements from vendors.
  • Take a proactive approach in reviewing current systems and procedures, making creative recommendations and implement approved changes.
  • Reviews all requisitions and issue purchase orders to vendors.
  • Follow up with vendors to confirm orders and ensure accuracy of order requirements
  • Expedites purchase order for critical requirements.
  • Research and source products/parts required by operations
  • Follow-up frequently to ensure expectations are met with regards to products/services delivery
  • Reviews and compare quotations for special projects, raw materials, parts and supplies.
  • Conduct routine review of quotations and make recommendations to senior management
  • Provide assistance and participate in problem identification and resolution of quality issues in a creative manner.
  • Works with cross-functional team on special projects
  • Provide information on products and market conditions for analysis
  • Coordinates meetings and interactions with vendors, suppliers, and other parties to negotiate contracts, ensure effective relationships, quality services, and efficient operations.
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable, and vendors to provide information and resolve any discrepancies or issues affecting payment of invoices.

Experience Required :

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in purchasing.
