ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYWorking as an integral part of the Ayás Mén̓men Child and Family Services Department, this position reports directly to the Manager, Family Centres. The purpose of this Complex Behavior Key Worker is to support Squamish families children and youth with behavior challenges, developmental delays, or complex neuro-development behavioral disorders. The position works closely with the Supported Child Development Consultant and Early Intervention Team. The support will consist of coordinating services linking and brokering resources, information and referral, intervention re: problem behaviors, advocacy, outreach to children, youth, and families, and ASD/FASD/ CDBC assessment process. Additionally, enhancing neuro-divergent development awareness and education through community presentations.What You BringCombination of education and experience.Working with children and youth who demonstrate significant to severe behavioral difficulties, exhibit cognitive and developmental challenges and have complex health and mental health issues.Working knowledge of children, youth and families with FASD and other complex behavioral disorder needs, and /or multiple social or educational needs, and how to support families.Works with parents/ families who have children/youth with complex behaviour.Developing and facilitating support groups.Working across disciplines and agencies.Professional, adaptable communication style with strong interpersonal skills.High level of emotional intelligence, patience and integrity.Maintains composure in high-pressure situations.Able to disseminate complex information to stakeholders.Resourceful and organized with excellent time management abilities.Able to deliver information with tact and diplomacy.Acts ethically and with the highest degree of confidentiality.Team-oriented with a positive, approachable attitude.  Salary: $ 67,365 - $ 75,358 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits programWhy Work With UsAs a dynamic community organization, we understand the importance of employing enthusiastic and talented people to work together.
