Data Scientist

This is an onsite position (5x a week in the office) in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Candidates must be in British Columbia to be considered for this role. Due to the location of this office, having a car will be helpful.   This is a completely new position with a well-established construction company based out of North Vancouver. They have multiple subsidiaries and offices around North America and are heavily investing in their technology.   You will work very closely with their Data Engineer, who has been instrumental in setting up their data and business intelligence processes. The Data Engineer has laid the foundation, and they have begun to implement AI and predictive models.   In this role, you will take ownership of their machine learning and predictive models and will present these to leadership. You need previous experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch or equivalent machine learning libraries.   What you will do and how you will make an impact …   [-] You will develop machine learning and predictive models, mainly for estimation projects. The impact of these models can be measured through time and money that has been saved.     [-] You will work collaboratively with the Data Engineer to develop solutions, and you will present your models and recommendations to leadership.   [-] You will work with the management team and various internal team members to contextualize the data and understand the business requirements.   [-] You will research and identify new areas for opportunity and provide actionable recommendations accordingly.   Why we are excited about you …   [-] You have experience creating a predictive model from scratch, and owning the project from start to finish.   [-] You have experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow or a similar.     [-] You have excellent communication skills and have experience presenting your work and recommendations.      [-] Minimum 1 year of experience in a Data Science or similar position.   [-] Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or similar.       Does this sound like it was written for you?
