The IT Systems Administrator, under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, serves as technical expert for the development, implementation, management and support of company information systems. The role is responsible for management and support of internal systems (policy/claims management software, industry software, workflow management tools, etc.) and understanding business requirements to provide solutions that enhance the company’s efficiency and effectiveness. The IT Systems Administrator works closely with Senior staff and Leadership to understand technology needs, business problems, and to educate staff on how to effectively use the tools available to them. They plan and carry out exciting, complex assignments independently and in cross-functional teams and develop new methods and approaches in a wide variety of IT specialties. They evaluate new and enhanced approaches to deliver IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data; and define technical requirements. Among the areas of responsibility for this role are providing desktop and service support, migrating infrastructure to the cloud, developing internal tools and integrations, and more.

What you have

  • 2-5 years of prior related experience
  • University degree or varied work experience demonstrating a breadth of knowledge
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365, Windows server administration, Linux administration, Azure, VMWare, Intune, Zendesk, Confluence and Jira
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Creative problem solving
  • Genuine curiosity and love for technology
  • Experience creating technical documentation and mitigating risk
  • Demonstrated understanding of disciplined change management frameworks
  • Ability to learn on the job, perform independent troubleshooting and problem solving as appropriate
  • Good understanding of support function, triage and escalation processes and a desire to help others
  • Clear communication and excellent interpersonal skills necessary to develop rapport and collaborate effectively with staff and vendors
  • Good organization and planning skills as well as strong sense of accountability to see projects through to success with mínimal supervision
