The Opportunity Operations Department |Seasonal Full-Time Position (Immediately - approximately November 29)|Monday - Friday|7:00am - 5:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a Dozer as it applies to pushing scrapers, ditching, sloping, finishing grade work, etc.
  • Read and interpret grade stakes.
  • Operate the Dozer in compliance with all safety regulations, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
  • Clean the heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
  • Perform daily and routine safety and maintenance checks of the equipment before operation, ensuring all systems are functioning correctly to maintain optimal performance levels.

Key Qualifications

  • Previous Dozer experience in the maintenance or construction of roads is preferred. Must have a good understanding of road construction and maintenance techniques.
  • Able to communicate effectively with the Assistant Construction Supervisor regarding any maintenance requirements or repair needs.
  • Be able to operate heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner-must be able to follow safe work practices and abide by all safety policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Must be able to work in physically demanding conditions and perform physical labour, including heavy lifting.
  • Must have a proven ability to interact with others in a calm, courteous and respectful manner.
  • Must possess, and be able to maintain, a valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license. Current driver’s abstract required.
