Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Reporting to the Canada BES Business Group Manager, the Tech, Media and Telecom Principal is the member of the business development team that manages the Technology, Media, and Telecom market sector pre-positioning and pursuits. The Technical Sector Principal will collaborate with the Tech Media Telecom Sector Director, the National Business Development Director, Canada, and regional Marketing Services to deliver a coordinated approach to developing clients and business. The Technical Sector Principal shall maintain client relationships and market sector intelligence that is used for establishing strategy including market analysis, resource needs, and key client capture plans.The Technical Sector Principal is also a professional services resource from experience gained through working in the industry. This experience is shared with the delivery team and technical staff to augment the team’s knowledge and capacity through quality reviews, mentorship, and project contributions.The Technical Sector Principal acknowledges the emerging nature of the role. During its evolution, they contribute core electrical engineering knowledge and analysis to projects during the design phase of our work. The project mix is varied but the core focus is Data Centres and Data Technology. The role involves contributions to multiple projects in various locations.Primary Responsibilities Coordinate and communicate regularly with all stakeholders (BES team, Marketing team, Project Manager, design team) to help achieve success for each pursuit.Cultivates leads and manages pursuits. Coordinate analysis of project risks (technical, contractual), pursuit resources, and proposed project teams.Coaches younger engineering and design staff and is accountable for the work produced. Assigns routine engineering tasks requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.Collaborates with teams on international hyperscale and co-lo programs and projects during design, construction, and commissioning.Provide direction to delivery team members and technical personnel. Provide quality checks and reviews for electrical discipline and multi-disciplinary coordination. Scope of work includes the following electrical engineering practice elements: Power DistributionInformation TechnologyIntegrated AutomationQualificationsRequired Qualifications Degree in Engineering or Applied ScienceLicensed A minimum of 7 years of experience in client and partnership developmentA minimum of 5 years of experience in data centre systems and design of buildings. Proficiency in MS Office.Experience in business development, customer focused support, and design of data centre facilities. Healthcare, Science and Education facilities experience is beneficial. Experience and/or interest in sustainable design desired. Computer experience using relevant engineering tools and software.Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
