The company is a full-service water well contractor specializing in providing services for the consulting, exploration, development, and protection of groundwater resources. Due to recent growth, Well Initiatives Limited has an opening for an Assistant Well Technician .

Well Initiatives Limited is currently seeking a dynamic individual with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment based out of our Elora office and in the field.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Work outside in all conditions with some office/shop work;
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.;
  • Aquifer pumping tests;
  • Assist with pump installations;
  • Data logger installations;
  • Data collection and organization;
  • Participate in Health & Safety programs; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Water well or environmental consulting experience;
  • Familiar with Water Well Act Regulation 903;
  • Well Technician License would be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge and aptitude of electrical, mechanical, or plumbing would be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment, hydraulics, well drilling systems, and pumping equipment would be considered an asset;
  • Strong time management and organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of computers is considered an asset;
  • A valid class G Ontario driver’s license (willingness to obtain DZ license, will train);
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required;
  • Ability to work: 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday) with mínimal weekend or overnight work .
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;

  • A high level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning;
  • Commitment to customer service with a strong sense of urgency;
  • First Aid, WHMIS (will train).

We own and operate specialized drill rigs, cranes, downhole video cameras, and support equipment that is required to construct and maintain water supply wells for individual homes and high-capacity municipal, commercial and agricultural wells. We also complete diagnostics and maintenance of existing wells that require regular maintenance.
