Keyera Career OpportunityJob Type:PermanentTHE POSITION The Journeyman Instrumentation Technician, based in the Grande Prairie, Alberta or Fox Creek, Alberta area, will be responsible for performing general maintenance and troubleshooting/repair duties for instrumentation equipment located on the KAPS pipeline.RESPONSIBILITIESConduct predictive, preventative and corrective regular maintenance on all instrumentation and controls equipment.Maintain all KAPS LACT, Booster, terminal and block valve sites.Conduct predictive, preventative and corrective regular maintenance on all instrumentation and controls equipment.Maintain all LACT skids, ESD valves, EFOY units, samplers, Communication/Radio networks, Leak detection equipment, and DCS changes.Actively support Operational Excellence and Asset Management & Reliability programs.Provide troubleshooting and problem solving with specific attention to safety, quality and plant production.Work with control systems such as PLC’s, DCS’s, SCADA networks, RTU’s.Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and optimize plant process control equipment such as control valves, transmitters, custody transfer meters and gas chromatographs.Support the Maintenance Lead in co-ordinating work activities with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering.Actively support Operational Excellence and Asset Management & Reliability programs.Be an active participant in work planning.Create and manage Management of Change (MOC) work packages, insuring all completed work adheres to engineering, regulatory and design engineering scope.Provide troubleshooting and problem solving with specific attention to safety, quality and pipeline production.Order parts, create service requests and capture equipment history in the Maximo system.Must be able to work overtime and callouts as required.QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service oriented with the following qualifications:Journeyman Instrumentation Technician/ Red Seal Certification.Minimum 10 years’ hands-on experience in oil and gas industry.Automation and Communications experience would be considered an additional asset.Electrical journeyman ticket would be considered an additional asset.Good computer skills with preference given to Microsoft and Maximo.Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.Team player with proven communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.Highly organized reliable individual with attention to detail.Self-starter who is able to work independently with minimum supervision.A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract).This role requires the candidate to wear respiratory protective equipment.
