Due to the growth and complexity of the organization, there is now a for a Regional Director (Western Region) with a focus on the business segment in Western Canada (including BC, AB, MB and SK). This role can be based in Vancouver, BC, Edmonton or Calgary, AB. Overview of Role The responsibility of this role is to provide operational excellence within the assigned region. The Regional Director drives change management plans, develops strategies, and deploys tactics to attain short-term and long-term financial and mission-critical operational goals. Through their leadership, the Regional Director Operations is responsible for achieving company goals and revenue growth, employee relations, business trends, and ensuring that company policies and standards are being met by each branch. This role will have full P&L accountabilities of the respective region. This role will work closely with a variety of stakeholder teams across the organization. This role reports to a Vice President and will manage a team upwards of 100 through 6 direct reports across multiple locations. Why This Opportunity and Why Now? Candidate Profile Experience & Qualifications The successful candidate will be a leader with a strong operations background and a track record of success, preferably gained in a related services-based organization. Health, sanitation, facilities and safety services imperatives and overall experiences gained in services-based organizations are of interest. A strong leader that has a proven track record that includes direct people management experience. An exhibited passion for people/ staff, customers, and operational excellence with the appetite for driving positive change and overall change management initiatives. Strong process improvement and project management abilities. Must be able to elate to both national local customers accordingly to KPI’s via team of employees. Ultimately comfortable to commit progress initiative to Safety, Customer Satisfaction, Quality delivery and growth of the business. They will combine a strong operational leadership skill set with highly developed customer acumen. Excellent business development knowledge and the ability to demonstrate previous success in maintaining a successful remote operations branch network or mobile workforce. The ideal candidate will have managed multiple locations and can also manage resources and support networks in a matrix organization. Must be able to work with cross functional stakeholder teams. The candidate must have experience in driving cost savings, improving productivity and overall service performance of an operation in a measurable manner. P&L accountability (and/or managing operating budgets) in a previous role is required. The ideal candidate will have the potential to progress into a larger role with increased scope in the future. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess well-developed influencing skills and should have the ability to manage internal and external relationships to achieve a high level of successful outcomes for the operation(s), company and clients alike. The successful candidate should display a strong inclination towards problem solving with a drive to achieve solutions that are beneficial to both the customer and to the organization’s overall mission. This role should be comfortable interacting at all levels of the business and with customers and possess a dynamic engaging personality. This individual will be energetic and be a proactive leader who can thrive in a dynamic and challenging business environment. Personal Profile 8+ years of field services management or services-based experience required paired with strength in operational and people leadership of customer facing teams. Experience leading teams across multi locations would be considered a strong asset. Various industry experience will be considered and could include field services management, facilities services, workplace solutions, etc. Excellent people management skills with demonstrable experience of leading a large, dispersed, and diverse workforce across multiple locations and geographies. Comfortable managing direct reports and teams as well as leading within a matrix driven support environment. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate and develop a diverse team. Be able to relate well to others. Proven ability to partner with HR to recruit and retain staff. A strong orientation to customer service and people leadership from a direct client and internal branch operations perspective. Experience in managing all facets of a business, with a focus in operations delivery. Should have the proven abilities to manage in excess of 60 employees through lines of managers while still being a hands-on leader. Solid business acumen and proven operational and financial skills. Organizational process improvement expertise and overall leadership traits. Proven ability to provide organizational excellence, guidance, and the tools to drive positive change with a focus on quality delivery systems. Will have managed P&L and/operational budget(s). Must have strong business and financial acumen. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively independently and be a recognized team player and, importantly, a “hands-on leader that is a self-starter.” Energetic, confident, and persuasive. Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage changing priorities. Proficiency with MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook). Post-secondary education in business management or related. A university degree or college diploma would be ideal. Relevant experience will be considered. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel upwards of 25% overnight travel.
