Durham College is seeking an experienced and motivated professional who shares our commitment to quality and student success.  Reporting to the Director, Program Quality, Professional and Part-time Learning, the Online Course Developer will work closely with the Curriculum Quality and Development Manager to support the creation of engaging and effective course materials for an online course: UEYA1380- Understanding the Early Years Act .     Work will be done remotely. activities ·          Identify, design, and develop appropriate learning materials for technology mediated learning including developing new content, curating available material, navigation layout, assessments, text and visual content etc.; ·          Implement the principles of Universal Design for Learning during development of materials; ·          Maintain alignment of all teaching materials with the course learning outcomes; ·          Ensure all materials are AODA and WCAG 2.0 compliant and follow copyright law. The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following qualifications: 1.     Minimum of five years of recent experience in early childhood; 2.     Holds an Early Childhood Education (ECE) designation; 3.     Holds a Master’s degree (or higher) in a related field; 4.     At least 5 years of cumulative post-secondary teaching and/or course development experience in a related field, with an emphasis on technology enhanced teaching an asset; 5.     High technical skill using all main functions of learning management systems, particularly D2L Brightspace; 6.     HTML experience an asset; 7.     Ability to effectively design, develop and integrate technology to meet curricular needs; 8.     Demonstrated skill and good judgment in selection of appropriate teaching materials; 9.     The ability to produce quality written documentation; 10. Excellent research and critical thinking skills; 11. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team and participate in consultative decision making; 12. The demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines; 13.
