Support Worker (Scarborough)

Overview

A family in Agincourt, Scarborough (close to Scarborough Town Centre) is seeking a patient, caring, physically fit support worker to assist their daughter who has special needs (both physical and developmental).

The support worker will assist our daughter in her daily personal care and community activities. Our daughter enjoys being with people and participating in community activities, such as dance, arts and crafts and bowling. She likes spending time with people who want to be in her life, who advocate for her and share her vision of living a meaningful life in the community.

The one-to-one support role includes (but is not limited to): personal care, including toileting, assisted transfers, use of manual wheelchair

  • life skills (gross and fine motor, communication, self help)
  • administering medication
  • proper nutrition (tube feeding)
  • assisting with catheterization (training will be provided)
  • other duties related to her care
  • Be patient and adaptable
  • Have very good judgement (i.e., can make safe and effective decisions)
  • Follow exact instructions (especially around maintaining good hygiene)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 1:00 pm

  • 8:00 pm

Rate of pay: Negotiable
