Lander Treatment Centre, located in Claresholm, is a 48-bed short-term intensive, bed-based addiction treatment facility. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working in Addictions and Mental Health (AMH), you can offer hope, empathy and compassion to clients who are looking to make changes in their lives. It is truly rewarding to be part of a dedicated team who are supporting clients to reach their recovery goals. As a LPN, you will be an active member of the interdisciplinary team providing direct nursing care for clients including: pre-admission treatment matching, admission assessments, care planning, management of physical and mental health issues, medication management and discharge planning and processes. Our staffing includes RNs, LPNs, Addiction Counsellors, Mental Health Therapist, Client Care Assistants, Recreation Therapist, Recreation Therapy Assistants, and Administration. With no on-site physicians, you will participate in team decision making in line with organizational policies. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your assessment skills, ability to be self-directed, work effectively with the team, and demonstrate time management, organizational and critical thinking skills are key elements to being successful in this role. Working in a therapy environment, you will possess strong interpersonal and relational skills to support patient and family centred care. Due to the location of the position in Claresholm, AB, applicants within the south zone are welcome to apply. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team model. Strong communication skills to provide client education to individuals and groups. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through employment references. Addictions and Mental Health treatment experience. Experience as a LPN in an Emergency and/or psychiatric nursing setting. Experience with the management of Nicotine Replacement Therapy. Experience with Opioid Agonist Therapy. Charge experience.
