Wage: $180,000 - $195,000

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction design projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.

  • Provide overall supervision, coordination and scheduling of construction design activities and have a thorough understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and industry practices.
  • Review and oversee contractual obligations and the project budgets.
  • Develop and manage QA processes to ensure the compliance with the contractual obligations and ensuring completeness of the design.
  • Develop and manage processes to ensure meeting or bettering project budgets.
  • Develop detailed design schedules that are coordinated with the overall project schedule.
  • Lead the development of a project strategy that secures the project, and meets or exceeds the project’s required performance, schedule, and profitability targets.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the design policy and procedures.
  • Conduct performance plans and assessments with direct reports.

Required Skills:

  • 10 years’ experience in a management leadership role in a construction company
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Senior Design Manager on major ($30M +) design build projects of similar types.
  • Possess a project management portfolio with large commercial and institutional projects as well as P3 buildings.
  • Experience in major healthcare projects is an asset.
  • Experience in collaborative delivery models, such as Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) or Alliance is an asset.
  • Proficiency using BIM software tools.

Required Education:

  • A minimum of a college level diploma/certificate in construction or a related field.
