Job Description : In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Child & Family Rehabilitation Services (CFRS), the Program Coordinator is responsible for program operations and budget planning, implementation, directing and monitoring the quality of performance of the multidisciplinary team on a day-to-day basis. Evaluating the program in order to ensure delivery of a high quality service, employee hiring, supervision and performance management. Plans, organizes, and manages day-to-day operations.

QUALIFICATIONS : Education, Training And Experience : A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in a related health discipline and five (5) years' experience with service in (program specific or paediatric rehabilitation) that includes management experience, and post basic education in supervision and/or management. Master's degree preferred.

Skills And Abilities :

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a productive multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to develop and implement service delivery systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of multidisciplinary team approaches for coordination of care in a complex environment and system of care services.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and delegate
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to find creative solutions to problems and to develop alternative strategies to support quality improvement initiatives in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong planning, critical thinking and analytical skills.
