This transition marks a new chapter in our long-standing history of building communities, transforming lives, and connecting people of all ages, stages, backgrounds and abilities, to unique opportunities to learn, grow, and reach their potential. YMCA BC provides services in health, fitness & aquatics, child care, camping, employment & community services to over 150,000 participants annually. Nature & Scope: Director of Operations is a key member of the fundraising leadership team whose portfolio will focus on supporting the operation and leadership of the YMCA BC Foundation. Reporting directly to the VP of Fund Development, who is responsible for providing Foundation senior leadership and oversight, and working closely with the CEO/President, this new role will execute the operation plan for the YMCA BC Foundation in areas of governance, philanthropy, fund investment and financial management. This professionally mannered, self-motivated, creative thinking, results-oriented individual is comfortable making written and verbal presentations, working with governance volunteers, and prospective and existing donors. A key focus will be moving the advancing philanthropy mandate of the Foundation forward to support the strategic plan. Major Responsibilities: YGVF Operations and Reporting –manage the day-to day operations of the YGV Foundation and work closely with VP Fund Development and CFO to prepare reports for appropriate governance committees, as well as for ongoing monitoring of Foundation financial performance.Support Governance –actively manage the preparationof board and committee packages, reports and work with VP Fund Development to follow-up on business arising from meetingsPhilanthropy– working closely with VP Fund Development, fund development team, to execute the philanthropy strategies of the foundation with focus on legacy giving and donor stewardship. Participate in planning of scaling out Foundation planned giving program across all YBC geography and participate in the planning of the comprehensive campaign, that includes legacy giving fundraising goal. Support the volunteer committees associated with named funds and governance working groups. Granting– manage the identification and distribution of designated and discretionary grants by supporting Impact and Advancement committee and in collaboration with YMCA leadership.Fund Investment– support quarterly review of fund reports with Investment Committee. Qualifications/Experience: University Degree, Master’s Level is an asset 10 years related experience Strong business acumen Exceptional written, listening and oral communication skills; effective presentation skills Knowledge of CRA regulations and laws in relations to donor and Foundation compliance Demonstrated ability to handle pressure, in a matrix environment within time and resource constraints Proven team player Sensitively-tuned interpersonal skills Familiarity with the BC philanthropic, social and business communities Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point), Google Mail and Raiser’s Edge Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding start date YMCA BC is committed to creating an inclusive, accessible environment where all members of our community feel valued, respected, and supported.
