POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting in the Services Manager of one of our Canadian locations, the incumbent in this role is responsible to lead a team of Certified Industrial Technicians, he/she is responsible and accountable to ensure the efficient and timely execution of all Industrial Technician activities through demonstrated leadership in the areas of performance, safety, customer service and ensure an organized working environment. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages, coaches and leads a team of up to 15 employees Supervises the day-to-day operation and leadership of the Industrial Technicians team Must have the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot both simple and complex technical issues. Ability to develop and maintain positive employee, customer and cross functional team relations Develop and implement departmental changes enhancing workflow optimization Responsible to actively drive team member engagement Responsible/accountable for: recruitment, onboarding, training/ development, coaching/counseling. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and attainment of Key Performance Indicators. Responsible to Monitor, maintain and ensure that Industrial Technicians Certificates, and Training, are valid and updated on a monthly basis. Ensure quality and turnaround commitments are met as per customer expectations. Hold the team accountable and balance the requirements for customer service and productivity. Act as the liaison between the Industrial Technicians (within the Service Shop) and the SIR's (within the office). Ensure a constant monitoring and flow of service work orders, and all work related service repairs are continuously assigned as per the customer demands and dispatched in an efficient and time saving manner. Responsible to ensure Inventory and Service Parts are maintained in accordance with constant changing service work. Responsible for ensuring all warranty repair work, so that all Vendor Credits and Refunds are processed correctly and in a timely manner. Responsible for the 2-month calendar training matrix for existing and new Industrial Technicians during the 12 month training cycle to ensure appropriate training and avoid expired training certificates. Responsible for tracking the Key Performance Indicators for the Industrial Technicians Responsible for ensuring safety policies and procedures of Occupational Health & Safety Act and any other pertinent legislation governing positions are met. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Post-Secondary Diploma or equivalent demonstrated Work Experience, minimum 7-10 years, preferably in a Repair Center Diploma or equivalent technical certificate with technical / industrial service, preferably Safety/Fire/MRO. Minimum 1-2 years prior experience leading a team Proven track record of positive coaching, team building, training and development of direct reports, coupled with a 'hands-on' management style, willing to work alongside the team on a daily basis where required. Strong leadership qualities with good communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey a message in an organized, clear and effective manner. Proven skills in time management and ability to prioritize tasks within a fast-paced environment. Able to work independently and travel as part of the role. Proficient computer skills and aptitude, including usage of Microsoft Excel, Outlook Messenger. Knowledge of S.A.P. would be a considerable asset. Knowledge of industrial and/or safety products is an asset. Possession of a valid driver's license. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. English and French required as the role supports and interacts with team members from all Canadian provinces.
