Job Summary   As an Assistant Technician for our Waste Management department at the Laval location, you will assist in the safe disposal of hazardous material in accordance with all relevant regulations and policies.   In this role, primary responsibilities include:   Ensure compliance and safety conditions of the waste storage room. Inspect regularly the waste storage room to ensure the appropriate segregation of the different hazardous waste (acid, basic, flammable, oxidizing agent, reducer, organic, reagent or others). Collect the hazardous waste containers for all internal departments. Ensure compliance of the different waste container identification. Perform the cleanup of any spill that occurred while performing their duties. Provide support to all departments, if necessary. Perform any other reasonable tasks that could be required.   Key Elements We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:    High school diploma a background in science (chemistry/biology) or the equivalent; Relevant work experience; Good knowledge and practice of GLP and work-related legislation, practices, and procedures; (asset); Good knowledge of WHMIS 2015; (important asset) Reading English is required. Bilingualism is preferable; Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; Meticulous attention to details; Capacity to work with time constraints and adapt to change; Practical knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office and others).   Role Specific Information: Location: Laval / Free parking / Near the subway Montmorency Schedule: Monday to Friday  Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week   Why Charles River?     Competitive benefits as of the hiring.
