    The opportunity

    The Traceability Business Analyst will play a key role in Gildan commitment to deepen its supply chain transparency. With an eagerness and passion for understanding complex and constantly changing supply chains, this role will provide the foundation to ensuring Gildan can effectively execute key programs across responsible sourcing, sustainability, legal, and trade compliance.

    With a focus on ensuring Gildan has an accurate view of its manufacturing supply chain, including the collection of complete and accurate data and understanding relationships between stakeholders, you will also lead material and product traceability programs that will drive compliance to Gildans’ materials and sourcing policies and global laws and regulations.

    As a Traceability Business Analyst, you will be responsible for in-depth business process requirements analysis, business process re-design, and translation of business-related requirements into functional specifications resulting in configuration and/or development of effective systems solutions.This mandate will also include analysis and resolution of production issues and user support.You will also lead and/or participate in the following activities: Testing, preparation of training guides and other supporting documents, training business users, deployment of solutions, as well as post go-live support.

    The role

  • Drive customer/business support traceability data issues to resolution
  • Responsible for executing traceability program for high-risk countries and materials, including mapping raw material origin, to drive compliance with Gildan’ material and sourcing policies and global regulations.
  • Responsible for developing and executing an approach for product level traceability to meet global regulations and Gildan’ transparency vision.
  • Lead efforts to visualize Gildan manufacturing supply chain.
  • Through the supplier management and traceability tool, responsible for substantiating more sustainable material claims such as recycled content to enable consumer facing messaging.
  • Gather, validate and document business requirements:
  • Conducts interviews to gather customer requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods
  • Works with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements
  • Modelling business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts.
  • Researches, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Creating functional specifications for solutions.
  • Assists in conducting research on products to meet agreed upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts.
  • Simplify the information and decipher technical jargon so it is easily understood by the whole team and the business stakeholders
  • Translates conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
  • Assists with the interpretation of customer requirements into feasible options, and communicating these back to the business stakeholders
  • Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team
  • Develops and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted.
  • Conduct reviews, walkthroughs and solution testing to ensure that deliverables are achieved within accepted SDLC and PMO guidelines.
  • Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements — verbally or through written documentation — to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.

  • Bachelor’s degree in corporate responsibility, sustainability, environmental studies strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in sustainability, supply chain, or relevant work, preferably within the footwear, apparel, textile, automotive or mining industry.
  • Good understanding of apparel manufacturing supply chains would be a plus.
  • Experience in building supply chain maps using software tools preferred.
  • Excellent quantitative analytical skills and a passion for data driven approaches.
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization, and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all the pieces fit together and affect one another.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create strong and meaningful relationships with stakeholders including internal teams,
  • suppliers, and any other 3rd party organizations to drive change.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office suite and other data analysis and visualization programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Would be an asset:
  • Experience with JD Edwards World and/or E1 environment
  • Knowledge of textile manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Spanish is an asset
  • Available to travel 20% of the time, as required
  • This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
