Bid Manager Ottawa, ON (Hybrid) Position Summary The Bid Manager is responsible for the development of high quality winning Bids and proposals to prospective customers. This entails the management of a multi-disciplined proposal team through the bid development process. Key Areas of Responsibility Proactively manage a multi-disciplined team in the timely development and submission of contract-winning bids and proposals Working with the Capture Lead and the Business leads; develop and agree on a successful bid strategy for each bid/proposal. Convey this strategy to team members from all functional areas responsible for submitting costs and schedules in support of the bid Define and gather all the requisite inputs from functional departments to support the generation of the bid and review and scrutinize those inputs to assure they are well-founded and that they accurately reflect the scope of work to be performed Comply with established company processes and synthesize the bid/proposal for presentation to management for required approvals Arrange, with the help of the Capture Lead, the Gate 1 (Bid/No Bid) and Gate 2 (Submission Approval) reviews and present to the Management audience (either Local, Region, Country, Global Business Line/Unit in line with the Bid Complexity). Maintain a close and professional working relationship between internal functional departments; promote an attitude of cooperation and solidarity in the responsible pursuit of new contracts and the expansion of our business Proactively participate in identifying key barriers and risks to the attainment of the above listed primary objectives and formulate plans and actions to improve our overall effectiveness and performance in developing winning bids and proposals Minimum Qualifications University degree and/or equivalent work experience. Five to ten years of related Bid & proposal experience. Experience in managing Bids / Proposals in a matrix organization. Experience in an Engineering discipline, working across the Development, Production, Integration and Commissioning phases of a project lifecycle. High proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and change management techniques. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and prioritize requests. Preferred Qualifications University degree is preferred to be in a STEM area of study. Experience responding to Government of Canada Request for Proposals (RFPs).
