Licensed Counselling Therapist or Social Worker - Lifemark Health Group: Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS)**

Location: Bedford, Nova Scotia

  • Virtual and in-person clinic services available; will vary on physical location of therapists relative to primary hub locations

Lifemark is excited about our new partnership with Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS), the national contractor for the administration and delivery of medical, psycho-social and vocational rehabilitation services with both interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams (i.e., physiotherapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy, vocational rehab specialist, case coordinators) and interdisciplinary mental health teams (psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors, social workers, occupational therapists).

This offers a greater opportunity to have a more consistent approach to care that is holistic and integrated, improving experiences for both providers and participants.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide psychotherapy/counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, by various insurance companies, and other third-party organizations to address psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness.
  • Adopt a goal-focused, therapeutic approach for alleviating distress and improving social and occupational functioning.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss clients’ treatment plan and goals, the progress made to date, and any barriers to treatment.
  • Delivery quality reporting and effective communication with all stakeholders.

Key Qualifications : Licensing :

  • Fully licensed with the respective provincial College of Licensed Counselling Therapists or a Social Worker registered with the provincial College of Social Workers as an autonomous practitioner in good standing

Experience

  • Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of a range of mental health symptoms with a variety of adult clients.
  • Have clinical knowledge in the areas of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues.
  • Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and concussive syndrome an asset.
  • Training and experience with cognitive behavioural therapy approaches (e.g., CBT, ACT, CPT).
  • Experience working as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team.
  • Experience preparing assessment, progress and discharge reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, solid judgement, and integrity.
