We currently require a Dynamic, Smart and Results oriented individual for our Accounts Receivable Team Lead located Remotely . We have Occupational Health Clinics in Kitchener, Sarnia, Mississauga, Calgary, Nisku, Edmonton and Fort McMurray. The Accounts Receivable Team Lead is responsible for leading the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Receivable Collections (ARC) team and ensuring the quality, accuracy and efficiency of the team as well as development and reporting of AR/ARC KPI’s and continuous improvement initiatives to Accounting Leadership. : What we offer :

Primary duties and responsibilities : Operational Functions

  • Work in conjunction with the accounting department leadership team to ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively on a daily basis;
  • Work in conjunction with all department leadership teams to provide efficient flow and process across the organization and provide necessary support to those departments;
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of accounts receivable processes and procedures.
  • Operate successfully in a very fast paced and hectic environment;
  • Assist with investigating issues and working with other departments on finding a solution;
  • Handle projects as assigned;

Department Specific Functions

  • Ensure accuracy of receivable data entry.
  • Ensure that aging is kept in good standing.
  • Support the collections process aiming to improve collections and reduce write offs
  • Review accounts sent for third party collections, ensuring all that could have been done, has been done to reduce third party collection fees.
  • Champion automation of the AR/ARC process by continuously searching for opportunities to strengthen internal controls, improve AR/ARC processes & reduce manual work
  • Act as the liaison between AR/ARC and other departments as required;
  • Provide support to the AR/ARC team as required;
  • Responsible for monthly reporting of key performance indicators to leadership team
  • Other duties assigned by the company.

Team Lead Functions

  • Embody the DC difference;
  • Offer leadership and guidance to staff in a manner consistent with DriverCheck’s culture;
  • Motivate and inspire team members;
  • Mentor and ensure effective training of new staff; and develop and train existing staff on new processes and procedures;
  • Field questions from accounts receivable staff;
  • Delegate tasks and ensure department deadlines and goals are met;
  • Prepare yearly employee reviews;
  • Follow up on staffing issues, including staff errors;
  • Ensure adequate coverage exists for completing tasks through organizing and cross training for staff changes, vacancies, and holidays.
  • Assist with the preparation of regular team meetings for items related to AR/ARC;
  • Assist in developing and monitoring employee KPI’s and using the KPI’s to help develop the team
  • Recognize and celebrate team and team member accomplishments and exceptional performance;
  • Identify training and quality/accuracy gaps and develop performance improvement plan (PIP) based on needs/gap assessment.

What you need to be successful in the role :

  • High school diploma;
  • Diploma or Certificate in accounting or related field;
  • 2+ years’ experience in accounting ;
  • 2+ years’ experience in leading a team;
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills;
  • Detail oriented with accuracy;
  • French is an asset
