Junior Accountant

No. : 113007 Position: Junior AccountantLocation: North York, near York Mills Station (Hybrid: 2-3 days on-site per week)Salary: $35 to $38 per hourJob Type: 3-month contract with potential extensionStart Date: ASAPRole Overview:As a Junior Accountant, you will support the Accounting Manager and work with the team to manage financial transactions, reconcile accounts, process payments, and conduct cost analysis. This role involves regular interaction with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and compliance.Responsibilities:- Record financial transactions and maintain accurate accounts.- Reconcile bank statements, credit card payments, and other financial records.- Prepare monthly and annual reports, including returned cheques, payroll deductions, year-end schedules, accruals for AP/AR, asset depreciation, and year-end closing entries.- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.- Post journal entries and update subsidiary ledgers.- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts.- Handle petty cash and cheque deposits.- Perform additional accounting tasks as required.Skills and Qualifications:- 3+ years of accounting experience.- Proficiency in Excel, with advanced skills in Pivot Tables, advanced formulas, data functions, and Power Queries.- Experience in supporting year-end processes, accruals, and account entries.- Experience with full-cycle accounting, from invoicing to booking entries.- University or college degree in Accounting.- CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an asset.Please send your resume in Word format to Rory Colgan at .REFER AND EARN A $50 GIFT CARD!
