Some of what you will do : The Regional VP Operations is responsible for providing leadership, ensuring operational execution in order to achieve budgeted regional profitability goals. Key responsibilities include sales and profitability through: sales development, gross margin enhancement, labor and expense control, inventory management, human resources administration, customer engagement, directing the development of District Managers and store management, as well as merchandising and marketing program execution. Plays a key role in the strategic planning process and being the principal change agent responsible for behavioral changes within the region.

Specifically, You Will :

  • Serve as a symbolic role model for strong communications, timely response to all customer and Associate concerns, and devoted advocate of company values.
  • Provide operational direction to District Managers and store management, ensuring the achievement of financial objectives, including sales, gross profit, expense control, productivity, and the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations of all units.
  • Conduct frequent store visits to coach and acknowledge good performance, and ensure compliance with all programs; act as a role model and coach of customer service and selling skills, by making sales and service the top priority.
  • Assess Human Resources needs of the region, and coach direct reports in the identification, selection, training, timely evaluation, and development of management talent.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization as required to ensure all programs and initiatives capture the store and retail customer POV; partner with DMs to ensure successful implementation of these initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to promote a positive working relationship between Home Office, Associates, and the Management Team at store level, while at the same time developing these individuals to be proactive and assume greater responsibility, as well as providing value-added service to the stores.

Some of what you need :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong leadership, people development, mentoring and coaching abilities.
  • Expert knowledge of industry trends and competition
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge in financial analysis
  • Strong ability to influence decision making both internally and externally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to tailor communication to audience.
  • Exceptional time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • 10-15 years plus of progressive related experience including experience at a District Manager / Sr. Director level
  • 5+ years of managing multi-level teams
  • Progressive experience in retail merchandising
