Role OverviewThe Project Manager will provide leadership and coordination of project management functions. Working directly with applications department, customers and Project team to direct project scope and ensure profitability goals are met on budget. Work with the management and plant personnel to deliver the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.The Project Manager job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Technical: Direct and coordinate project schedules and resource allocation within the individual project teams Monitor and communicate the project scope to the project teams as well as updating entire project time of contract changesCreate and review project schedules with the customer and project team to ensure on time project deliveryReview initial project scope and buy-in to project budgetDevelop and manage project budgets and maintain project profitabilityManage company man hours versus projected project hours to maintain company optimum capacity work functionsMonitor all progress by the project teams on a daily basis, pinpoint possible issues with design, budgets, schedules and customersLiaison between all departments to ensure time delivery of purchased items and on time delivery of Eclipse machinery and equipmentEnsure contractual communication is clearly understood and the information is completely and clearly transferred from Applications thru to the Project Management then to the manufacturing group by using the ‘Open Book Project Communication’ methodEnsure all project binder and documentation is kept up to dateCo-chair company’s project meetings to ensure all department leaders meet design specifications, schedules and project budgetsReview new projects with applications and department managers to allocate budgets and company resourcesEnsure completion of all project contract deliverables through verification checklists including internal pre shipment check lists are completeMonitor and approve project purchasesParticipate in the development of change order proposalsAssist in the design evaluation of accepted project ordersRecord all Research & Development work per project is reported for SR&ED claimsMonitor individual and departmental performance on a project level to identify department short falls and apply performance metrics against final executionAttend design review meetings to confirm project scope is metReview and approve specific project and department personnel expense reports Leadership: Monitor and update project work-in-progress to report project profitability to accounting on a monthly basis Communicate project invoicing to the Accounting department and ensure payment is received Work with project team and supervisors to correct any potential issues Represent the company at various business meetings to promote the company Promote positive relations and open communication techniques with partners, customers, vendors, and distributors Recommend and consistently administer policies, process flow and procedures to enhance operations Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projectsAbility to communicate effectively with personnel, resolve and trouble shoot potential problems with supervisors Project Execution: Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safelyComplete other duties and projects as assignedEnsure scheduled milestones are metNotify the appropriate departments if milestones are not metMaintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate VisionEnsure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct CodeFoster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business Qualifications:Education: Has successfully completed a University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Engineering / Robotics Automation TechnologyEducation in Project Management or Business Economics would is preferredFormal project management training through PMP or working towards obtaining PMP CertificationProficiency with MS office based software and MS ProjectFamiliarity with AutoCAD and Solid Works would be an asset Experience: 5+ years in the field of automation or specialized equipment and tooling directly related to the sectorExperience in strategic planning and executionKnowledge of contracting, negotiating, accounting principles and sound business practicesKnowledge of structuring resource planning, managing budgets and revenue expectationsWork requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills About Eclipse Here at Eclipse Automation, creation and innovation is at our core, and our culture reflects that.
