  • Secondary School Diploma.
  • Certificate, Front Line Housekeepers course preferred
  • Dangerous Goods Transportation certificate preferred
  • Able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Computer skills to include outlook, order entry, basic word, safety monitor pro training, knowledge of intranet navigation
  • Understanding of WHMIS, Infection Control, Safety, Family and Patient Centered Care, Waste Management protocols
  • One year Housekeeping experience in Health Care setting
  • Experience with equipment, such as floor maintainers, auto scrubbers, upholstery cleaners, vacuums and ladders.
  • Satisfactory attendance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)

  • All Housekeeping duties related to custodial work, and Infection Control.
  • Essential duties, cleaning in patient and non patient care in all areas of the hospital.
  • Flexibility and availability to work days, afternoons, midnights and weekends.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment, i.e. floor maintainers, auto scrubbers, upholstery cleaners, vacuums and ladders.
