MRO Strategy Manager- Engine Division

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for developing a Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) strategy for our engine fleets. This will include analyzing current MRO performance, defining performance improvement requirements, performing options analysis, and leading make or buy decisions. Close collaboration with the Director of COE Engine is required to ensure full alignment of the engine production strategy.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of an engine MRO strategy to meet customer requirements.
  • Work with the Director, Engine COE to define requirements to improve engine production and MRO performance.
  • Develop process to report and analyze engine MRO performance.
  • Support engine MRO strategy by leading make or buy decisions.
  • Organize, plan, and oversee the establishment of all internal or external engine MRO capabilities.
  • Development and implementation of engine component and accessory MRO strategy.
  • Ensure growth of engine MRO capability by developing engine repair capabilities for future engine capacity.
  • Ensure company standards are met in the procurement of all parts, supplies and services required to complete work projects.
  • Streamline processes to minimize costs, reduce errors/defects and meet deadlines.
  • Consolidate engine MRO capabilities where possible by working with all business units.
  • Provide training to technicians on various engine types as needed.

Knowledge & Competencies:

  • 5+ years’ supervisory/management experience in a related role specific to Aircraft Engine MRO strategy.
  • 10 + yrs experience in aircraft engines or in engine MRO strategic sourcing through various engine types
  • Experience managing supplies and inventories, supervise shop, and the overall quality of production.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing strategic plans.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems within budget constraints and tight deadlines.
  • Experienced in analyzing and recommending make or buy decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build strong relationships.
  • Strong ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to create and maintain accurate and organized documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Have industry contacts local to the area (asset)
