About the Role Reaction Dynamics engineers are responsible for taking projects from requirements through to tests and, if applicable, flight operations, and everything in between. They take full ownership over their systems which may result in technical support or even the occasional urgent troubleshooting. The avionics team is seeking a hands-on engineer, versatile in the field of embedded systems yet with a focus on the design of PCBs and electrical systems, to work both on flight avionics and electrical ground support equipment. Successful candidates will be rigorous while also results-driven, self-reliant while also team players, and will like challenges. Permanent position Languages: English (required), and French (preferred) Responsibilities Take on the development of PCBs and electrical systems made required in development plans --- Write requirements and validation plan with the support of stakeholders --- Create and present conceptual/system design --- Evaluate risks, cost, and lead time --- Select components and make electrical CAD design --- Order, receive, and inventory parts --- Assemble/install the PCB or electrical system --- Unit-test the product --- Commission the product and train staff if applicable --- Troubleshoot and fix issues should issues arise Design and build harness as necessary Create documentation & supporting material and keep it up-to-date Update JIRA board daily Participate in the improvement of hardware design & production processes Write necessary drivers, firmware, or software (e.g. HIL unit tests) with the support of the software designers Necessary skills and Qualifications Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent 2+ years of work experience developing embedded systems Proficient with Altium Strong understanding of: --- Python language --- C language --- Linux environment --- Circuit theory and analysis Familiar with: --- Electrical laboratory equipment --- Soldering --- SMT assembly Preferred skills and Qualifications Proficiency with programming in C and Python Familiar with GIT, JIRA, Visual Studio Code, LTSpice, STM32 toolchain Familiar with mechanical CAD on any software (for enclosures etc.) Bonus: Previous certification in field electrical work
