Forklift Operator Level 1

Bilton Welding and Manufacturing in Innisfail, AB is looking for positive, energetic and driven Forklift Operator to join our team.

Responsibilities :

• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations
• Pull and prepare product for shipment
• Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required
• On a daily basis, inspect and report minor maintenance requirements on the forklift, bobcat or other equipment
• Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required
• Operate equipment in tight and congested areas
• Work in tandem to move large, off balance loads as required
• Communicate with other operators and ground crew throughout the day
• Prep and load shipments onto trucks
• Yard cleanup and organization
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
• Sound knowledge of products, sizes and lift procedures
• Maintain all materials in the yards and warehouse in an organized and efficient manner
• Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
• Notify immediate Supervisor of any issues that may arise
• Other duties, as advised by direct supervisor

Qualifications & Experience :

• Critical lift experience is a must
• Manufacturing Industry experience considered a strong asset.
• 1 year of experience operating various equipment (forklift, bobcat, ariel work platform, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Effective organizational skills
• Effective verbal and listening skills
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions

Working Conditions :

• On-call may be required
• Overtime may be required
• Extreme weather conditions while working indoors and outdoors
• Uneven and rough terrain
• Exposure to various fumes when in the shop facilities
