SCOPE OF WORK : This is a Full-time position requiring 5 days of work per week. the incumbent to this position is responsible for supporting the in/external handling of donated goods and for providing sales and customer service support to ReStore patrons. This position may also require the incumbent to ride on the ReStore truck to assist in the collection of donations.

REPORTS TO : The ReStore Operations Associate reports to the ReStore Manager

The nature of this position is such that it requires exceptional people skills, accurate records-keeping and a demonstrated willingness to work as a team player in a dynamic and challenging environment. Given the nature of this position and the fact that the incumbent may be required to enter donor homes as part of our collection team, an incident-free Police Record check will be required as soon as possible upon commencing employment. [HFHS/L will reimburse for this expense on presentation of a valid receipt.]

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES :This position is not warehouse based. There is an expectation that all ReStore Operations Associates demonstrate an active bias to responding to and supporting all operational activities relative to the effective and efficient operation of the ReStore. Specifically: Store Operations

evaluates, tests, cleans, prices and distributes merchandise within the store;

  • Undertakes such duties as are necessary for the general operation of the ReStore that include, but are not limited to, maintenance and cleaning duties in the warehouse, workshop, store and in/external common areas;
  • As required, rides in the ReStore truck and assists with the collection of donations; and
  • Strictly adheres to all affiliate Health & Safety policies and procedures as they relate to store operations.

Customer Service & Sales

the incumbent will demonstrate consistent aptitude and excellence in all customer service and donor interactions and will be required to:

  • Become thoroughly familiar and up-to-date with Habitat for Humanity’s mission, vision and values;
  • Be thoroughly familiar and up-to-date with ReStore merchandise offerings and their location in the store;
  • Appropriately receive and respond to customer and donor inquiries. Route and resolve such inquiries in a timely and appropriate manner;
  • Be polite and respectful at all times;
  • Warmly receive, greet and direct customers;
  • Assist [under the director of the Back of house coordinator or ReStore Manager] with the (re)merchandising of the store;
  • Assist customers with purchases if/as required, understanding that this task will, at times, require the incumbent to lift/move/handle store merchandise;
  • Function effectively and efficiently as a member of a team operating within a busy and demanding atmosphere; and
  • Strictly adhere to all affiliate Health & Safety policies and procedures as they relate to customer service, sales and interaction with the general public and all other Habitat stakeholders.

Administration

  • Maintains accurate records of donated goods received in accordance with established practices.

Other

  • Undertakes such duties or responsibilities as may be assigned by the ReStore Manager from time to time.
  • Participates in all Health and Safety training/initiatives and professional/skills development opportunities as may be offered from time to time.
