Ride the next mile with us!Reporting to the Director of the legal department, the legal counsel will be responsible for all matters pertaining to labour law, litigation and compliance (incl. privacy). The legal counsel will also be responsible for drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.Responsibilities and Duties Include:·Provide guidance to the Human Capital department regarding employment and health and safety laws and regulations;·Conduct, manage or support work-related investigations;·Research and provide legal opinions on a variety of issues related to the business and our operations;·Draft and review contracts with suppliers and customers worldwide;·Collaborate with and provide guidance to internal stakeholders with respect to commercial agreements;·Take a leadership role with respect to managing litigation issues arising from employment law and general commercial cases, in collaboration with external counsel;·Take a leadership role and provide legal advice and guidance on privacy-related matters to internal stakeholders;·Support various departments in completing data processing activity assessments and implementing required controls;·Assist with training development, templates and other educational resources; ·Draft various legal documents including policies, procedures and other documents to ensure the company complies with applicable laws and regulations;·Monitor the legislative and regulatory landscape of the organization.Required Experience and Qualifications: ·Minimum of 4-7 years of experience as in-house counsel or in a law firm with a focus on employment law, litigation and compliance;·Strong understanding of provincial labor standards;·Demonstrated knowledge of the legislative landscape around privacy and the protection of personal information;·Good understanding of contract law and experience drafting agreements.Competencies (Skills & Behaviour): ·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;·Team player, motivated and dynamic;·Strong work ethic, creative thinker, and a self-starter;·Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects;·Demonstrated ability to interpret, analyze, summarize, and report on legal documents.Intelcom is a leading last-mile carrier in the e-commerce sector.
