Our client is a family-owned business that distributes consumer products.

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing the day to day purchasing activities and managing two direct reports. Ensure all components (packaging, graphics, compliance) for product readiness are complete to ensure product orders can be placed on-time based on customer requirements. You will be overseeing inventory levels, managing purchase orders, working with suppliers locally and globally. You will review forecast requirements in SAP and process purchase orders to meet requirements from customers. Anticipate potential shortages and work with demand planning and finance to place appropriate purchase orders.

As the ideal candidate you must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in Purchasing – priority will be given to candidates with experience working for a distributor. As a Sr. Buyer you must have experience in delegating tasks, coaching/mentoring staff. You must have experience working in a fast paced environment and communicating with internal and external stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Experience dealing with north American and global suppliers will be preferred for this role. Experience with SAP is a nice to have , however your excel skills must be above average. Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills are key to the success of this role.
