Hourly Instructor - Special Care Counselling Program

The Continuing Education department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course GROUP WORK (351-212-LA).

This course will explore the processes involved in group formation and development. The impact members have on the group as well as the impact the group has on its members will be assessed in order to explore the dynamics emerge. Students learn to use appropriate facilitation and leadership techniques and to use appropriate conflict resolution and problem solving strategies to help group members generate solutions and increase cohesion. Animation and leadership skills that the SCC can use when working with groups will be introduced. Emphasis will be placed on developing effective strategies for conflict resolution to be used with a variety of different groups of individuals.

Required Qualifications : Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years teaching experience. Teaching experience in special care counselling or a related program is an asset. Experience working with diverse client groups in the special care counselling field is required. This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required.
