Position : Human Resources Manager

McSween Custom Fabricating, Erecting, Welding Ltd. is a Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, based multi-discipline industrial fabrication and construction company that has been serving the industrial plant community since 1980. McSween’s expertise covers a broad range of industries, which include Petrochemical, Fertilizer, Cement, Mining, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Heavy Industrial, Light Industrial, and Power Generation.

Job Description :

  • Sourcing, screening, and selecting Craft/Trades applicants
  • Collaborating with management to secure trade manpower for upcoming work.
  • Extending offers and completing all related correspondence and onboarding requirements for all staff
  • Assisting with the placement of skilled labour, including transfers between projects, and updating labour tracking systems accordingly
  • Support all activities of the recruitment process including sourcing, scheduling and facilitating interviews, administer assessments, reference checks, offer packages and onboarding
  • Assisting in the site mobilization of successful Craft/Trades personnel
  • Verifying Technical and Safety Qualifications
  • Performing administrative duties such as scanning, tracking, completing forms, and taking meeting minutes.
  • Creating and maintaining confidential hard and electronic files
  • Fostering positive relationships with colleagues, clients, Building Trade organizations, and subcontractors
  • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders, as required, and developing and maintaining strong, customer-focused relationships with key stakeholders and all decision-makers
  • Preforming Drug & Alcohol testing
  • Preforming Fit testing
  • Full Reception duties as required
  • Assisting Accounting, Payroll and other admins as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Job Requirements :

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of recruitment experience
  • Must be able to work independently or in a team environment in a highly fast-paced environment
  • Must have strong knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and present content and ideas that influence a favorable outcome
  • Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines
  • Be able to shift priorities seamlessly, have a keen eye for detail and be able to always maintain a professional demeanor
  • Industry knowledge will be considered an asset

Shift :Monday to Friday - 7:00AM to 4:00PM (Typically) Position may require working hours to shift due to staffing requirements.
