Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Skilled Labourer - Telecommunications located in Woodstock, ON. we are working 12 months a year and minimal 44 hours a week unless bad weather unable to work. overtime more than 44 hours/week is paid 1.5 of hourly rate.
The Skilled Labourer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to telecommunications installations and maintenance. This includes assisting opening pits either dig or trenching, installing GLB, connecting pipes, installing flower POTs, conducting repairs, pulling cable and performing quality assurance checks such as duct verification. The Skilled Labourer will also ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain accurate records of work performed such as:
- Manage the vehicles and its actions; responsible for identifying weight as to not exceed vehicle requirements
- Load and unload heavy equipment in a secure and damage free manner
Transport cargo and/or equipment utilizing various combinations of truck and trailer
- Complete the Driver’s daily pre-trip, en-route and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Complete the Driver’s logbook, accident, or incident reports
- Maintaining a clean and orderly vehicle (interior and exterior)
- Operating tools and equipment and supporting the crew as needed
- General site preparation and clean-up as directed
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimal 1 year of experience operating a Mini Excavator
Valid G driver's license and a good driver's abstract
Experience in towing a trailer is preferred
Ability to read locates is an asset
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions year long
Good verbal communication skills and able to work with others
Must be able to safely lift 23 kg (50 lbs.)
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable health and safety training as per legislative and job requirements
Must be willing to complete an online criminal record check to the company’s satisfaction
