Clinical Dietitian (AH-24-075)

The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing accurate, timely and appropriate nutrition assessment, management and support for clients and communities in Southern Health-Santé Sud. The Clinical Dietitian applies nutrition and dietetic theory, key knowledge and critical thinking skills to strive to improve the health of clients and residents of Southern Health-Santé Sud.The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.Base out of Lions Prairie Manor and providing services to Douglas Campbell Lodge, Gladstone Health Centre - Third Crossing Manor, and MacGregor and District Health Centre.QualificationsBaccalaureate from an accredited University with a major in Human Nutritional Sciences or equivalentDietetic Internship Certificate from an accredited programRegistered Dietitian; must be a registered member of the College of Dietitians of Manitoba (CDM)Member of Dietitians of Canada recommendedMinimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Dietitian or in a nutrition related professionDemonstrated ability to work effectively with populations with diverse cultural and social backgroundsDemonstrated ability to function effectively within a collaborative health care teamDemonstrated organizational, communication and leadership skills.Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is requiredProficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positionsDemonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the jobDemonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediumsGood work and attendance recordConditions of EmploymentRequires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
